Scriptures for Unanswered Prayers

By CBN.com

CBN.com There are five key reasons why certain prayers go unanswered.

It’s the wrong time.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven... He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." - Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11

You’re not ready.

Unrepented sin. "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." - I Peter 3:12

Unforgiveness. "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift" - Matthew 5:23-24

The answer will hurt you.

"When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." - James 4:3

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express." - Romans 8:26

There is something better for you.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" - Jeremiah 29:11

Heaven is better.

"Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death." - Isaiah 57:2

"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him" - I Corinthians 2:9

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Philippians 1:12
