CBN.comTHE O2 DIET: ORAC VS FREE RADICALS
Keri says it is beneficial to eat a diet high in antioxidants.  She defines antioxidants as the “superheroes” that fight off the cancer and other diseases.

“If you focus on the fact that you need to eat more of the right foods, you will be healthier, you will feel better and you will look great,” says Keri.

As a nutritionist, Keri came up with the O2 Diet which is a groundbreaking 32-day plan.  Each day, you consume foods packed with nutrients with 30,000 points of what experts call ORAC value.  ORAC stands for oxygen radical absorbance capacity, which is a fairly precise scale that measures how well the components of a food mop up the free radicals in the blood stream. Consuming 30,000 ORAC points will boost the antioxidant power of your blood at least 10 to 25 percent.

“My plan is not about avoiding bad food,” says Keri.  “It’s about eating more real food.”

Whether trying to lose weight or reduce high cholesterol, Keri says it’s time to stop thinking about what you want to prevent; rather, picture exactly what you want to build.

There are some weight-loss wonders that make the O2 diet so effective.

Lemon Water: Some people overeat simply because they are thirsty; loading up on water helps prevent that

Green Tea: Provides 3,000 ORAC per cup; helps burn calories and decrease body fat

Mushrooms: Provides B vitamins, iron, potassium, selenium; great for smooth complexion

Lean Proteins: Help in weight loss; salmon reduces inflammation, calms skin and makes skin glow

ORAC Fruits: Blueberries pack lots of ORAC punch, nearly 9,700 points per cup serving; helps reduce aging

Snacks: Cherries reduce inflammation, lower cholesteral and triglyceride levels; 3,500 ORAC points per serving; Pistachios help lower risk of heart disease and are loaded with plant sterols; 18 pistachios have 1,000 ORAC points.
