Mark McKenzie's Message from God

– Musician Mark McKenzie has composed and orchestrated over 100 Hollywood films. He worked on Dances with Wolves and Spider-Man too.
His music has been used at the Academy Awards. Because of his talent, some pretty big artists have sought him out.
At beginning of his career, Mark wasn’t sure if he was supposed to be invovled in Hollywood because he was a Christian. Then he heard a lesson on The 700 Club about how to learn what God wants for your life.
"I heard Pat say, 'Some of you just need to know what God wants you to do. So why don’t you go find a quiet place and ask Him?' My reaction at first was, 'That’s exactly what I needed to do.'”
Mark sat, prayed and listened for guidance.
"I just heard a still small voice, a thought in my head, not a thought that I thought up. Just suddenly it was there. The thought was, 'I am going to use you. You have a great future in film.' I thought, 'That’s God speaking to me.' But then I said, 'Wait! That is exactly what I wanted to hear. That’s just me speaking to me. Lord, if that was You who put those thoughts into my mind, will You confirm it some way? Maybe a Scripture?' Almost before finishing that thought, again, a still small voice just said, 'Look up 1 Chronicles 17:2.
I was dumfounded. It said: 'And Nathan said to David do all that’s within your heart for God is with you.'
"It just became very clear to me that this was the call on my life, that I was to pursue working in movies."
A Steven Spielberg movie was his first Hollywood opportunity.
Mark is convinced his success is directly connected to his commitment to stay close to the Lord.
He says, "Pour your heart out to God, then listen to God’s response back. God just loves us so much. He desires to speak to us. He desires to give us direction, to send us off on good things."
