Sarah Pollak

SarahPollak

Since coming to CBN News in June 2000, Sarah has covered a broad range of topics, specializing in international stories. In the past, she was on-air talent, reporting for 3 1/2 years and did a stint as fill-in anchor for Christian World News. Sarah now enjoys being a news producer and a blogger for Africa Matters on the CBNNews.com.

Travel has always been a big part of Sarah’s life. She spent four years in the Middle East as a youngster and still enjoys globetrotting today. She has filed reports from Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Some of most memorable stories of her career include sending in reports from the rubble of the World Trade Center, the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Democratic and Republican National Conventions (2000 and 2004), reporting on the rebuilding effort in the war ravaged South Sudan, and covering the Presidential visit during the dedication of the Billy Graham Library.

Sarah has worked for a number of secular and religious news outlets in various markets through out her career. She worked her way through undergrad as a freelancer for The Associated Press and United Press International.  She then continued supporting her "learning habit" in graduate school as a news anchor for several radio stations in the Hampton Roads market, working through Metro Networks and announcing the news on everything from smooth jazz to urban formats.

While in graduate school, she did her professional internship on the National Desk of National Public Radio in Washington, D.C., aiding reporters with coverage of the Supreme Court, campaign finance reform, and a variety of other topics.

Through the years, she has also taught at various professional journalism conferences overseas, including two in Warsaw, Poland and one in Paris, France.

Sarah and her husband, Paul, live in Virginia with their one-year-old son and their menagerie of pets…two cats, a dog and a lizard.
