厕所在那里?(Where is the Restroom?)

There are so many significant things happening in China right now like the Olympics, continued economic development, high-level congressional meetings, and the list goes on.  But instead, today I bring up a topic of a completely different nature; one that is a little bit more urgent for a limited few: Beijing's new service to bring tourists to the nearest restrooms.

While toilet guides might not compare with something like poverty alleviation, or the growing income gap, as any tourist in a crowded area knows, sometimes, when nature calls you can't ignore it!  So now, to relieve tourists of this burden, Beijing's Shichahai area offers a convenient service from every day from 8-5.

As CRI English reports, two toilet guides carry tourists on the back of their tricycles, and promise to bring customers to their desired location in 30 seconds, free of charge.  One told Beijing News that he had to undergo training for this current career, in order to locate the appropriate and closest restrooms.

I must admit, as frivilous as this news may be, I would love to find a toilet guide when I'm  touring new areas.  These drivers might not be curing cancer or solving the stock market dilemmas, but they're making a huge difference in the lives of some grateful tourists.  Keep up the good work!
