Iran's Reaction to the Va. Tech Massacre

America continues to mourn the 32 Virginia Tech students who were brutally and senselessly murdered on Monday by crazed gunman Cho Seung-Hui

But what are our enemies saying about the worst act of mass murder in U.S. history?

To find out, Iet's take a look at an editorial in one of Iran's most influential newspapers, Kayhan International. It's published under the direction of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameini, and is considered a mouthpiece for the mullahs. Here's a snippet from an editorial in today's edition (hat tip from Allahpundit at Hot Air).

Observers were quick to note the hypocrisy in President George W. Bush’s expression on the Virginia bloodbath. Bush, who never misses an opportunity to terrorize the world and whose terrorist troops have massacred hundreds of thousands of people in occupied Iraq without the least remorse, feigned grief and called the campus incident ‘horrible’.

What a preposterous liar! He relishes war, violence, bloodshed and destruction. He has completely destroyed the infrastructure of Iraq and Afghanistan. He unabashedly supports the bloodcurdling crimes of the Zionists against Palestinians.

He has scant regard for the life of Americans as well. His buddies had masterminded the supposed hijacking of aircraft from Boston and the subsequent implosion of New York World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001 that killed over three thousand US citizens. He sends young Americans to die in foreign lands in order to satisfy his insatiable lust for power and wealth...Imagine such a cold-blooded killer’s expression of grief and the use of the word “horrible” for the Virginia University Campus shooting!

Whether you love President Bush or loathe him, this delusional, hateful rant is obviously beyond the pale. From this line, I gather that  the Iranian government now offcially believes the U.S. was behind 9/11:  "[Bush's] buddies had masterminded the supposed hijacking of aircraft from Boston and the subsequent implosion of New York World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001."

Oddly enough, it's the Iranian government that has some explaining to do when it comes to the 9/11 hijackers.  But wait! Could there be a sudden change of heart? The Kayhan editorial closes with this touching ode to the American people:

The Islamic Republic of Iran, as part of its humanitarian duty and concern for the American people, has duly sent its condolences to the bereaved families and expressed sympathies to the survivors of the two-hour ordeal...

Gee, thanks guys! We really apprecia...oh, wait. There's more:

...who are undoubtedly the victims of the culture of violence and bloodshed preached by the super terrorists in the White House.

Nice. But never fear, people: diplomacy is here!
