Can a Malaysian Woman Choose Her Faith?

CBNNews.com - A Malaysian woman will find out Wednesday if she has the constitutional right to choose her religion.
Now Malaysia's highest court will decide if Lina Joy's constitutional right overrides an Islamic law that prohibits Malay Muslims from leaving Islam. Her seven-year legal battle has challenged the country's reputuation as a moderate Muslim nation that guarantees freedom of religion.
Joy became a Christian seven years ago. She was shunned by her family and friends and forced into hiding after renouncing Islam.
If Joy loses her appeal, she will be under the jurisdiction of Islamic courts, which could convict her of apostasy and send her to jail.
