Reaction to Mitt Romney's "Oceans" Campaign Ad
July 18, 2007
The Brody File has received quite a few responses to Mitt Romney's new campaign ad called "Oceans". If you haven't seen it, read more here.
The reaction is below:
"I believe Romney's record matches his rhetoric. He is speaking about cleaning up the world in which our children live. He is attempting to inspire, encourage, and empower families to rise up and do the right thing for their children and future generations. He is saying that, in him, families have a partner who they can depend on to strengthen families, not weaken them. While a president may not have much authority to change these things -- he can set the tone and set higher standards for all citizens to attempt to meet. Raising the bar is a good thing"
"This new Mitt Romney spot that is about to assault the air waves brings back fond memories of really bad PBS PSAs complete with beach, disasterly pathetic voice overs and can we forget the canned Muzak that fills the air of the soundtracks background.
Now, the message is sweet and I see where he wishes to take the piece however the whole "our children" "beach/water" metaphor bushed the envelope of really bad Hallmark writing."
"Amen to this commercial - This seals his commitment to having a strong family value platform. Cleaning this ocean is the most important environmental pollutant to clean.very effective!"
"No matter what Romney puts out now, he still has an elephant in his room. It's all clanging brass now."
