CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - The Yesha Council, representing Israelis in Judea and Samaria (and Gaza, prior to the government's August 2005 pullout), launched a new ad campaign Monday to raise a public outcry against Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's "declaration of principles," being formulated with Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
The countrywide campaign starts off with posters on upwards of 1,000 buses with the slogan, "The Olmert-Abu Bluff deal will blow up in our faces." Abu Mazen is the PA chairman's nom de guerre.
The poster campaign will be followed by a series of ads on the Internet and other media outlets.
"Abu Mazen is Abu Bluff," said one Yesha Council official. "He is incapable of giving us anything in return and anything given to him will fall into the hands of Hamas, just as happened in the Gaza Strip," he said.
"Such an agreement will only lead to the establishment of a terror state that will constitute a daily security threat on the citizens of the State of Israel and will bring the Kassam rockets to the Azrieli Towers [in Tel Aviv] and to the runways of Ben Gurion Airport," he said.
Wednesday, Olmert and Abbas will meet for the sixth time to prepare the "declaration of principles" document for the upcoming U.S.-sponsored Middle East peace conference, now scheduled for the end of November in Annapolis, Maryland.
