CBNNews.com - Leaders at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., are denying accusations of fraud and money laundering.
University President Richard Roberts is accused of using the school's money on extravagant clothing for his wife and a lavish vacation for his daughter.
Leaders also charge that the Roberts' home was remodeled 11 times in the last 14 years, and had university employees do his daughter's homework.
"I am not intimidated by blackmail and extortion. Make no mistake about it, this suit is about money," said Richard Roberts, son of televangelist Oral Roberts.
Three former professors are suing him and his school, claiming they were fired for reporting the college's potentially illegal involvement in a political campaign.
According to the suit, Richard Roberts asked a professor to use his students and university resources in a local mayor's race.
That could jeopardize the school's tax exempt status.
The fired professors also say they have proof of Roberts' lavish spending at donors' expense.
"We turned it over to the board of trustees and at that point we all found ourselves separated from the university," said former ORU professor Dr. John Swails.
Another fired professor, Dr. Tim Brooker, said "he accused us of being extortioners, blackmailers and that that was God's words about us."
The ORU Board of Regents is now investigating.
Richard Roberts is the son of Oral Roberts, who founded the university in 1963 in Tulsa.
