Hamas: 'We'll Take Over West Bank'

CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Contrary to statements early last week, deposed Palestinian Authority (PA) Foreign Minister Mahmoud al-Zahar says Hamas will take over the West Bank.
While Gaza-based Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said early last week that Hamas had no plans to take over the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) as it did the Gaza Strip in June, al-Zahar said if Israel leaves the area, Hamas would take over.
"Israel says the party [Fatah] in Ramallah serves Israel and if Israel quits the West Bank, Hamas will take it over. We say this is true," al-Zahar told Hamas supporters in the town of Jabalya in the northern Gaza Strip.
"We say to those in the West Bak, take a lesson from what happened in Gaza," he said.
