U.S. Adds 'Golan' to Conf. Agenda

CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yielded to Syrian demands to discuss the disputed Golan Heights at the upcoming peace conference.

According to the London-based, Arabic-language newspaper al-Hayat, Rice told Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem that the Golan Heights will be on the agenda at the U.S.-sponsored Middle East peace conference to be held in Annapolis, Maryland, before year's end.

In Israel, Major General Amos Yadlin told Army Radio Sunday morning that  the U.S. agreed to discuss the sovereignty of the Golan Heights to ensure Syria's attendance at the conference.
