Dishing Back at the Archbishop of Canterbury

November 26, 2007

Historian Victor Davis Hanson blasts the assertions of the Archbishop of Canterbury that the U.S is the “worst imperialist.”

Rowan Williams, who is called the honorary head of the worldwide Anglican Communion, says the U.S. has lost the moral high ground since 911.

Hanson writes in National Review, “I suggest that the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams read a little history about the British experience in India before he offers politically-correct but historically laughable sermons like the one he gave to a Muslim "lifestyle" magazine.

The conservative London Telegraph adds, “One wonders what the millions of Christians persecuted by Islamist terrorists and governments will make of the Archbishop of Canterbury's interview with a Muslim lifestyle magazine. If they are looking for a condemnation of Islamic violence, they will be disappointed.”

The London Times reports members of the British Parliament have rushed to support the Archbishop’s “attack on America’s foreign policy.”
