CBNNews.com - The Christian Broadcasting Network is undergoing a changing of the guard. On Monday, CBN founder and Chairman Pat Robertson announced that he is passing on many of his duties to his son, Gordon.

The younger Robertson has been named chief executive officer of the world-wide organization.

"It was a big surprise," Gordon said. "I got called by dad following Friday's show in the dressing room, and he says, 'Can you get up here and tell the board what you plan on doing with CBN in the future?'"

"He did such a wonderful job, it was unanimous," the elder Roberston said. "They said, 'You are the new CEO.' So, please pray for Gordon. The thing the board was most concerned about over anything else was that he had the anointing of the Holy Spirt and power."

Gordon had been the producer and a host for The 700 Club.

Pat Robertson will continue in his position as chairman of CBN's board of directors and as the host of The 700 Club.
