CBNNews.com - A leaflet distributed by al-Aksa Martyrs' Brigades, the "armed" wing of Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, called for the assassination of PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

The group distributed the leaflet in the Gaza Strip.

"The command of the Aksa Martyrs' Brigades in the Gaza Strip calls on all its elements and striking forces in the West Bank to immediately eliminate the so-called Salam Fayyad," the leaflet read.

PA's Brigade Abandons Israel Agreement

"We call on all our members and policemen in the West Bank not to obey orders from the Fayyad government because it's serving an American agenda and helping Israel eliminate the Aksa Martyrs' Brigades," it stated.

According to Jerusalem Post Palestinian Affairs correspondent Khaled Abu Toameh, some Fatah officials went so far as to call the flier a forgery, accusing Hamas of creating and distributing it.

Meanwhile, PA officials told the press that Friday's terror attack, which claimed the lives of two Israel Defense Forces (IDF) off-duty soldiers, could have been "criminally motivated."

Palestinian Authority Minister of Information Riad al-Malki said Friday's attack may have been an arms deal gone sour.

Despite the surviving Israeli eyewitness of the attack, PA security forces in Hebron echoed al-Malki's words, claiming there was no evidence the incident was a terror attack.
