CBNNews.com - The Hamas terror organization's representative in Iran warned that a new wave of suicide bombers would soon be dispatched inside Israel.
In a statement on the Hamas Web site, Dr. Abu-Osama Abed al-Ma'ati said Monday's suicide bombing in Dimona was meant to send a message.
"We ceased to carry out these attacks for a year, but the enemy persisted with its aggression and violations to the cease-fire," the statement read.
"The Dimona attack is a message…that Iz al-Din al-Kassam [the military wing of Hamas] has renewed suicide attacks," al-Ma'ati wrote.
Hamas uses its Web site to announce policy changes.
The Islamic group, which took control of the Gaza Strip in a bloody military coup in June, has recently increased its involvement in rocket attacks.
Israeli defense officials have been expecting an escalation of terror acts by Iranian-trained and equipped Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank (Judea and Samaria).
Meanwhile, a poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research showed a six-point rise in support for Hamas in the two weeks since the breaching of Gaza's border with Egypt.
According to the survey, support for Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah party fell by six percentage points in the same time period.
