CBNNews.com - In the early hours of Sunday morning, an Israeli air strike razed the building housing Hamas terror chief Ismail Haniyeh's offices.
The building was empty when three Israel Air Force (IAF) missiles struck around 2:00 a.m., leveling the building and damaging adjacent structures. According to Palestinian sources, five people were lightly wounded in the strike.
Besides Haniyeh's office, IAF air strikes destroyed seven weapons production facilities and three munitions warehouses, killing one Palestinian civilian and wounding two, according to local sources.
Haniyeh, who served as Palestinian Authority (PA) prime minister in the short-lived PA unity government, was replaced by Salam Fayyad following the bloody military coup in June, when Hamas wrested control of the Gaza Strip from PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah-affiliated forces.
Following the destruction of Haniyeh's headquarters, his office issued a statement saying the IDF had "crossed the red line."
In one of the weekend's air strikes, the bodyguard of senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar was killed.
