Earlier this year, Manning was named NFL Most Valuable Player for leading the Giants to an upset Super Bowl victory. On Thursday, he and a group of disabled American veterans who served in Afghanistan and Iraq helped launch the challenge with a 30-minute walk to Battery Park.
