NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Three men accused of burning down a Tennessee mosque have been indicted on federal civil rights charges.
The Justice Department says a federal grand jury in Nashville returned the five-count indictment Wednesday against Eric Ian Baker, Jonathan Edward Stone and Michael Corey Golden.
They're charged in last month's arson at the Islamic Center of Columbia, which was located in a storefront in the city about 40 miles southwest of Nashville. No one was injured.
The indictment alleges that the three planned for a week to burn down the center and were said to be members of a white supremacist group known as the "Aryan Alliance." It claims the Columbia men used gasoline, rags and empty beer bottles to set the early-morning fire and spray painted graffiti on the walls.
