Sister of Slain Israeli Blames Olmert

CBNNews.com - BEERSHEBA, Israel - The sister of 37-year-old Oleg Lipson, killed by Palestinian terrorists at the Nahal Oz fuel depot near the Gaza border Wednesday, blamed Prime Minister Ehud Olmert for the attack.
"I blame Olmert; he is responsible," said Lipson's sister, Svetlana, who returned from her studies abroad to attend her brother's funeral.
The victims of Wednesday's terror attack, Lipson and Lev Cherniak, 53, both immigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union in the early 90s and lived in Beersheba.

The Jerusalem Post, a friend and colleague said workers had only a few minutes warning before the attack, which occurred moments after they'd finished the day's final shipment of fuel to the Gaza Strip.
Cherniak and Lipson were cut down by terrorist's bullets as they attempted to clear out a car to help others escape.
Friends, family and co-workers, who gathered after Lipson's funeral, said the army did little to alleviate their concerns about the lack of security at the depot.
"They didn't have a gun or even a bulletproof jacket," Igor Kaminesky, a friend of the victims, told Jerusalem Post correspondent Tovah Lazaroff.
The loss of his friends and the government's failure to provide adequate security for Israelis working near the border with Gaza "sticks in my throat," he said.
"He [Lipson] gave the Gazans everything by giving them fuel so they could cook food and the hospitals could function. And they killed him in a horrible way," Kaminesky said.
Before immigrating to Israel with his family in 1992, Lipson had completed two years of medical school. When it was too difficult to continue his studies in Israel, he dropped his plans to become a doctor.
Lipson is survived by his wife and eight-year-old son.
Lev Cherniak's funeral took place Friday morning.
