CBNNews.com - GAZA STRIP - The Hamas terror organization, the Palestinian faction that controls the Gaza Strip, is planning another assault at the Rafah border crossing with the Egyptian Sinai.

On Friday, Hamas imams (Muslim clerics) issued a special fatwa (religious ruling), stating that it was acceptable to open fire on Egyptian security forces.

According to "reliable Palestinian sources" quoted in the Monday edition of the Egyptian daily al-Ahram, Hamas gunmen plan to begin the breach by firing mortar shells at Egyptian security forces deployed at the Rafah border crossing.

Following the initial siege, Hamas forces will detonate explosives, planted above ground and in tunnels under the crossing, to destroy the newly constructed guard towers erected after January's border breach in the same area.

According to al-Ahram, Hamas will ready tens of thousands of Gazans to cross over into Egypt again, as they did less than three months ago.

The same sources said Hamas had sewn explosives along four kilometers (two-and-a-half miles) of the border and had coordinated the planned breach with members of the Egyptian-based Muslim brotherhood.
