Abbas Changes Plan to Honor Terrorists

CBNNews.com - Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas reversed the decision to bestow the Palestine Liberation Organization's (PLO) highest honor on two female terrorists.
Abbas, on a three-day visit to Moscow, phoned Israeli Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik to relay the change of plans.
The families of Ahlam Tamini, a Hamas-affiliated Palestinian serving 16 consecutive life sentences for driving the Sbarro pizzeria suicide bomber to his mission in central Jerusalem in 2001, and Amra Muna, who seduced Ofir Rahum via an Internet chat room to lure him to Ramallah to be murdered, were slated to receive the PLO's al Kuds Mark of Honor Thursday.
According to Abbas latest decision, neither Tamini nor Muna nor any other Palestinian prisoners would be honored with the medal. The PA president has sole jurisdiction in determining the recipients of the medal.
Meanwhile, in a televised address marking Palestinian Prisoners' Day Thursday, Abbas told his constituency that there will be no peace with Israel until every Palestinian prisoner is released. Some 8,500 Palestinians are serving time for terror-related crimes against Israelis.
Palestinian residents of PA-controlled cities in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) will hold rallies Thursday to honor those serving time for "heroic" acts of terror against the "occupiers."
