Gaza Doctors Forge Medical Records

CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - The Shin Bet (General Security Agency) said Palestinian doctors in Gaza are being paid to falsify medical records to Gazans to enter Israel for treatment.
"Recently there has been an increase in the exploitation of Israel's humanitarian policy by way of fraudulent medical permits in return for bribes to doctors in the Gaza Strip," a spokesman for Shin Bet told The Jerusalem Post.
"This, plus the requests of terrorist activists to enter Israel for medical treatment, increases the danger to state security," he said.
Recent charges by Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) accuse the Shin Bet of delaying treatment for 12 new cancer patients in Israel. PHR also blamed Israel's security agency for delaying patients who need to enter Israel en route to medical treatment in Jordan or Egypt.
The Shin Bet spokesman said the process that allows Gaza residents to be treated in Israeli facilities or to enter Israel to travel to Jordan or Egypt is complex and involves several authorities.
According to the spokesman, the agency is doing its part to speed the process along.
