CBNNews.com - Two weeks after Hamas terrorists gunned down two Israelis in the Nahal Oz Fuel Depot at Israel's border with the Gaza Strip, the terminal reopened Wednesday morning.
Last week's decision to partially open the fuel depot to ship diesel fuel and heating gas to the Gaza Strip was aborted after Palestinian gunmen opened fire at the tankers.
Palestinians in Gaza warned Tuesday that diminishing fuel supplies would lead to power outages and reduced sanitation, medical and other services dependent on power.
The Palestinian Energy Authority (PEA) said the power station would shut down Wednesday due to fuel shortages.
A week ago, Israel shipped diesel fuel to the Gaza power plant, which provides one-third of the power, while Israel provides the lion's share of the remaining two-thirds. Cooking gas was also included in last week's shipment.
Meanwhile, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) tanks escorted tractor trailers bearing food and medical supplies to Gaza, which had been cleared through the Sufa border crossing, reopened yesterday.
After receiving concrete warnings that Hamas planned to fire on the aid trucks, the IDF ordered the tank escorts.
