CBNNews.com - NITZANEI OZ, Israel - Palestinian terrorists killed two Israeli security guards at an industrial park Friday morning.
Shimon Mizrachi, 53, from Bat Hefer, and Eli Wasserman, 51, from Alfei Menashe, both worked as guards at one of the factories in the Nitzane Shalom industrial complex near the Palestinian Authority- (PA) controlled city of Tulkarem.
The Hamas-affiliated Izz al-Din al-Qassam and Fatah-affiliated al-Quds Brigades, which claimed joint responsibility for the murders, said the attack demonstrated that the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) must be part of any "truce" with Israel.
The terror groups said one of the gunmen, who is wanted by Israel, initially disguised himself as a woman to travel to the Arab town of Qalansuwa and later donned worker's clothing to get into the industrial area. He said the attack was "dedicated to Gaza's residents."
Magen David Adom paramedics examined both victims when they arrived on the scene.
"We found two casualties when we arrived," paramedic Itzik Mimran told Israel's Channel 10. "A senior paramedic said one of the victims was already dead and the second critically wounded. We began advanced resuscitation immediately, but sadly he died too," Mimram said.
Both security guards were armed.
Police believe one or more Palestinian gunmen entered the park and opened fire on the two guards. The security barrier prevented them from infiltrating further into Israel so they fled back to Tulkarem, Army Radio reported.
"We will apprehend the gunman no matter how long it takes," a senior Israel Defense Forces (IDF) official said.
The nine factories in the industrial park, which was built in 1995, provide work for many local Palestinians.
Six years ago, a group of Palestinians murdered 27-year-old Shani Ladani, an Israeli truck driver, and dumped his body in the same area.
Eli Wasserman, who will be buried on Sunday in Netanya, is survived by his wifeChaya, and two adult children, Ahiad, 30 and Michael, 28.
