DALLAS - The embattled former pastor of presidential candidate Barack Obama says he's been suffering a "public crucifixion."

The Dallas Morning News reports that the Reverend Jeremiah Wright's sermon Sunday from a Dallas pulpit drew a standing ovation from the 4,000 worshippers at Friendship-West Baptist Church.

Later Sunday, Wright was in Detroit, addressing a fund-raising dinner for the NAACP. He told that group that blacks preach differently than whites. In his words, "We just do it different, and some of our haters can't get their heads around that."
