BATON ROUGE, La. - A machete-wielding man has been arrested after holding sheriff's deputies at bay for two hours outside the Reverend Jimmy Swaggart's headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Police say they were called by workers at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries after Garland Morris had spent four hours in his pickup in a parking lot, listening to the televangelist's radio station at loud volume. Morris also had appeared at the ministries a day earlier, asking to speak with someone who worked there.
When deputies arrived, they say Morris waved a machete at them, refusing to get out of the truck.
After two hours, SWAT officers charged the truck, broke a window and took Morris into custody. He was charged with disturbing the peace and aggravated assault.
