WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says he's outraged by the latest divisive comments from his former pastor, and denies that he secretly agrees with him.

Obama told reporters in North Carolina on Tuesday that the Reverend Jeremiah Wright engaged in a "spectacle" Monday at the National Press Club in Washington.

Obama said he didn't attend Wright's church for a spectacle but to pray and grow in faith, and he rejected Wright's assertion that criticism of his fiery sermons is an attack on the black church.

The Illinois senator said he doesn't share the views of the man who officiated at his wedding, baptized his two daughters and been his pastor for 20 years.

Obama told reporters, "He has done great damage, I do not see that relationship being the same."
