National Day of Prayer Being Observed Nationwide

WHITE HOUSE - President Bush says, "On this National Day of Prayer, we ask God's continued blessings on our country."
The presidential proclamation -- and similar ones from governors nationwide -- invite Americans to observe this 57th annual National Day of Prayer by seeking God's grace and guidance.
President Bush is hosting a prayer gathering at the White House this morning.
Other National Day of Prayer events are being held on Capitol Hill and at thousands of public venues and houses of worship nationwide. This year's theme is "Prayer! America's Strength and Shield."
National Day of Prayer chairman Shirley Dobson told CBN News that she hopes Americans will continue to pray for the nation every Thursday from now until the November election.
