Demoted TV Anchor Alleges Religious Discrimination

RENO, Nev. - A Reno, Nevada, television reporter is suing her station, claiming she was subjected to unlawful discrimination and harassment because of her Jewish faith.

Danita Cohen-Breen alleges that KOLO-TV news director Robert Page told the newsroom staff that he's a born-again Christian, and then displayed a cross and picture of Jesus Christ in his office.

Cohen-Breen says she was demoted from morning anchor to reporter last June after she refused Page's request to work extra hours without extra pay.

In her complaint, Cohen-Breen says Page asked her if she was Jewish, and she said she was. She says Page then "stated that Jewish people are stubborn and sometimes needed to be humbled."

No comment from Page or the TV station manager.
