McCain Promises 'No Activist Judges'

CBNNews.com - Republican candidate John McCain may have the Republican nomination wrapped up, but he too spent the day campaigning in North Carolina.
He told voters about the type of judges he would appoint to the federal bench.
"My nominees will understand that there are clear limits to the scope of judicial power, and clear limits to the scope of federal power," McCain said Tuesday in a speech at Wake Forest University.
In the past, McCain has said Roe v. Wade should not be over-turned. And while he did not address that issue today, he did point the finger at activist judges for over-stepping their bounds.
"The duties and boundaries of the Constitution are not just a set of helpful suggestions. They are not just guidelines, to be observed when it's convenient and loosely interpreted when it isn't," he said.
McCain also said that he would appoint judges in the mold of John Roberts, Samuel Alito, or the late William Rehnquist.
