HINSDALE, Ill. - Members of Chicago-area church whose pastor was arrested in an undercover prostitution sting have responded by providing meals for his family.
Sunday's sermon at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Hinsdale focused on forgiveness. The Reverend Phillip Haltom was not present and his arrest wasn't mentioned, but the themes of sin, repentance and atonement rang through the service.
The 52-year-old Haltom was one of five men snared in an online prostitution sting last week. An undercover female officer posted an online ad offering sex last month. Haltom allegedly responded, and was arrested when he arrived at the agreed location.
