Hillary's Victory Speech: It Ain't Over Yet
May 13, 2008
Man she's a fighter.
I don't care if you hate her to the core, you have to give her some props for fighting. She just doesn't give up. Her speech tonight made very clear that she's going to fight until the finish. Click here to read and/or watch her entire speech.
Here are some points worth noting in the speech:
1) She made a direct pitch to the superdelegates arguing that she's more electable. It was interesting how she made a point of speaking directly to them.
2) She spent very little time on policy. Rather she spent more time on her determination not to quit and fight on. That tells me that not only is she going until June 3rd, she may indeed go beyond that if necessary.
3) I thought one of her strongest lines was, "The White House is won in the swing states and I have won the swing states." That really sums it up. Can she convince superdelegates that she's the party's meal ticket in November?
Look, it is true that at the end of the day, if the end game is to get a Democrat in the White House, superdelegates will need to decide whether Clinton or Obama is the stronger candidate.
Clinton may have high negatives in a general election but Obama clearly has some work to do with swing state working class voters.
Here's a video that they are playing at Team Clinton headquarters tonight.
