Bus Flips in Calif., One Dead

CBNNews.com - LUDLOW, Calif. - Authorities say a charter bus crash in the Southern California desert has killed one person and injured 21 others.

Tracey Martinez of the San Bernardino County Fire Department says the Glendale-based charter bus was heading to the gambling town of Laughlin, Nev., when it overturned shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday morning on Interstate 40 near Ludlow. Ludlow is about 115 miles southwest of Las Vegas.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Martinez says a woman who was thrown from the bus died. Eight people were severely injured and 13 others had minor to moderate injuries. The injured have been taken to hospitals and the eastbound lanes of the interstate have been closed.

The cause of the accident isn't known.
