Chapman Tragedy Highlights Adoption

CBNNews.com - Contemporary Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman and his family have received an outpouring of prayer and support since the death of his daughter last month.
More than 3,000 people have made contributions to the singer's nonprofit organization Shaohannah's Hope. In less than two weeks, donations have passed $360,000.
Maria Sue was struck and killed May 21 by an SUV her older brother was driving. The 5-year-old was playing in front of the family's Tennessee home, which has a long winding driveway. An official described the event as a "terrible accident."
Scott Hassenbalg, executive director of Shaohannah's Hope, said the family is still in "extreme sorrow," but that they know "the resurrection of Jesus" would get them through.
Maria was Chapman's youngest adopted daughter of three they brought home from China. His nonprofit group was started to support the adoption cause worldwide.
The Chapman's have also done extensive missionary work at Chinese orphanages.
