Israelis in the South awakened Wednesday morning to the familiar sound of Kassams, with three rockets landing in fields near the town of Zikim in the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council area. No injuries or damage was reported.

A short time later, two more rockets hit in the Eshkol Regional Council area, one landing near a greenhouse, which sustained moderate damage.

Meanwhile, Palestinian snipers opened fire on Israeli civilians working on an engineering project not far from the Gaza border. There were no injuries, but the incident precipitated the close of the Nahal Oz fuel depot, which has been a favored target for Palestinian terror attacks.
