CBNNews.com - AMMAN, Jordan - Jordan refused entry to an Israeli delegation slated to attend a two-day economic cooperation conference with representatives from Jordan and the Palestinian Authority.
The conference was sponsored by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Amman Center for Peace and Development, and Netanya Academic College's Dan Abraham Center for Strategic Dialogue.
Representatives from energy, agricultural, infrastructure, and water companies planned to discuss agricultural and tourism development around the Dead Sea and the Red Sea-Dead Sea canal project.
Jordanian officials told a few of the Israeli delegates that proper security arrangements had not been made to allow their entry.
"People sat politely on the bus and chatted for four and a half hours," said one Israeli delegate. "At one point everyone concluded that in a state like Jordan, the claim that this was a bureaucratic foul-up doesn't hold and that something else was going on."
