CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - The Israeli Air Force (IAF) will conduct joint tests next month with the U.S. Air Force to determine the source of high formaldehyde levels in the cockpits of F-161 fighter jets.

Lockheed Martin, the F-161's manufacturer, and Pratt & Whitney, who provided some of the cockpit's equipment, will take part in the testing.

In March, IAF Major General Elazar Shkedy canceled training flights on the F-161 after high levels of carcinogenic formaldehyde were discovered in the jets' cockpits.

Three F-161s remain grounded, while filters installed in 23 others in the fleet allowed them to return to service.

Tests to determine the source of the formaldehyde will be held in July.
