CBNNews.com - GAZA STRIP - Hamas officials in the Gaza Strip released another video of captive Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Corporal Gilad Shalit, according to an Egyptian newspaper.

Shalit was captured in a cross-border attack on an IDF outpost near the Gaza border on June 25, 2006.

According to the Egyptian al-Ahram Weekly, Hamas delivered the video, along with a letter from Shalit, to officials in Cairo.

Neither Shalit's father, Noam, nor Israeli officials knew anything about the alleged videotape and letter.

On Tuesday, during an address at Bar-Ilan University, in Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv, Shalit's father said despite Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's promise that he would personally oversee negotiations for his son's release, he had seen little "effectiveness, decisiveness or creativity" in the government's efforts.

"[The IDF] is the army of the nation [and] returning [kidnapped] soldiers is a must," Shalit told university students and staff.
