McCain is Asked to Make Huckabee his Running Mate

ORLANDO, Fla. - Christian conservatives who met this week to unite behind John McCain's presidential candidacy are asking him to choose Mike Huckabee as his GOP running mate.
Liberty Counsel president Mathew Staver, who convened the meeting of about 90 evangelical leaders in Denver, says the group's overwhelming consensus was to ask McCain to select Huckabee or someone with similar "pro-life, pro-family" values.
Staver says Huckabee's daughter, Sarah, attended the meeting as an observer but did not comment.
