Jobs Main Focus of McCain's Economic Plan

CBNNews.com - Sen. John McCain hopes to create jobs and cut taxes with his proposed economic plan.
The presumptive Republican nominee unveiled the plan Monday, citing current economic conditions as a major concern.
"Americans are worried about the security of their current job, and they're worried that...their kids and their neighbors may not find good jobs and new opportunities in the future," he said, adding that more than 400,000 jobs have been lost since December.
McCain noted that his plan would curb wasteful spending and overhaul entitlement programs -- including social security, which President Bush unsuccessfully tried to do at the start of his second term.
He also proposed to cut taxes, encouraging free trade and build nuclear power plants he says will help the country's energy crisis and create 700,000 jobs.
McCain criticized his opponent's plan to improve the economy, claiming it would hurt small businesses and slow job creation.
Recently, Obama downed McCain's health plan, saying that it would undermine health insurance already provided by employers to 158 million workers.
