CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Assuming that kidnapped Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reservists Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser were killed by Lebanese-based Hezbollah terrorists, the IDF began making arrangements to bury their remains.

In the two years since they were captured in a cross-border raid that sparked the Second Lebanon War, their families have held out hope that they might still be alive.

Tzvi Regev, Eldad's father, said he's still hoping his son is alive.

"I am waiting for good news," he said, admitting that the tension was building as the exchange, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, drew nearer.

The International Red Cross will post a doctor on the Israeli and Lebanese side of the border at the Rosh Hanikra crossing where the exchange will take place.

On Saturday, Hezbollah delivered an 80-page report on IAF navigator Ron Arad, shot down over Lebanon in 1986 and never heard from since.

"The Ron Arad report transferred by Hezbollah does not provide clear answers or solve the mystery surrounding his fate," Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barack said.

Nonetheless, the exchange will take place Wednesday.

In addition to convicted murderer Samir Kuntar, Israel is also returning four Hezbollah terrorists -- Khader Zidan, Mahar Kurani, Mahmad Sarur and Hussein Souleiman -- captured on August 16, 2008, during the Second Lebanon War.

The remains of nearly 200 Lebanese and Palestinian terrorists, buried in Israel, will be turned over to Lebanese officials. 

If the identities of Goldwasser and Regev cannot be verified at Rosh Hanikra, their bodies will be flown to Jerusalem for DNA testing before Israel releases the five Lebanese prisoners.
