Zionist Group Supports But Doesn't Evangelize Jews

WASHINGTON - The executive director of Christians United For Israel says the group supports Israel and the Jewish people, but doesn't seek to convert them to Christianity.
David Brog, who's Jewish, says this week's Washington-Israel summit hosted by Christian United For Israel's founder, the Reverend John Hagee, isn't concerned with evangelism.
Hagee and other Christian Zionists view modern Israel as a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, and believe that support for the Jewish people is a condition for God's blessing.
Senator Joseph Lieberman is to address the conference tonight despite his objection to Hagee's past assertion that God used the Holocaust to drive Jews back to the promised land. Lieberman nevertheless has praised Hagee for devoting much of his life to fighting anti-Semitism.
