CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - According to the War and Peace Index, published by the Tami Steinmetz Center, more than half of Israelis want the present government dissolved so the people can vote in new leadership.
The index revealed that 69 percent of Israelis want Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to resign immediately, regardless of whether he's indicted.
Why? Because they believe he lacks "moral stature."
One-quarter of those polled would settle for the present coalition with a new leader. Only 12 percent of responders think the present government is okay.
Regarding the status of Jerusalem, 61 percent are against ceding any part of the city to the Palestinians, even if that torpedoes a future peace deal.
Additionally, 51 percent of those polled are against ceding any of Judea and Samaria (West Bank) in any deal.
When asked about the US presidential race, only 18 percent believe Barack Obama would be favorable to Israel versus 42 percent who think John McCain would lead a government that would stand behind Israel.
