There are few things that will get you thinking about eternity faster than going into combat.

Chris Plekenpol, West Point graduate and former company commander with the 2nd Infantry Division in Iraq, can attest to that.

Now attending Dallas Theological Seminary, Plekenpol says being in the shadow of war oftentimes made him ask, "Why God?"

Still, he encouraged his comrads to press on and know that God is in control.
