CWN.org - JAKARTA, Indonesia - "The Call" is spreading around the globe. This week, the prayer gathering was held in Indonesia, a country that has more Muslims than any other nation in the world.

More than one million Christians in 50 cities fasted and prayed on that country's independence day.

It started with a prayer walk in the capital ciy, Jakarta.

The historic event began with more than 8,000 people marching around the city while interceding for the nation.

The people here are praying for a change of heart especially among the young people for them to say no to drugs, abortion, sex before marriage and pornography. They place this red tape over their mouths to signify a silent protest but a powerful one.

Head organizer, Pastor Andy Tjokro, explains that their young generation is determined not only to talk about being christian but to live as a true christian especially in the midst of persecution.

"Persecution is always there but we need to see it in a different area. I believe God can do it," he said. "Transformation is not only talking about Christian country here. Transformation is talking about even the the largest Muslim populated country, God can still work."

More important is the good impact it has created even among the Muslims.

"Even though they're praying for Indonesia, they're crying out to God in repentance for the sins of Indonesia. The Muslims are accepting it," Pastor Jerome Ocampo, founder of Jesus Revolution International explained. "It feels like the Muslims found that these Christians are serious. They really love the country and so the display of love, the display of acceptance is putting the church in a different level."
