CWN.org - In Iran, two Christian converts from Islam have been acquitted of apostasy charges.

Mahmood Martin Azad and one other man could have been sentenced to death. Instead the judge threw out the charges against Azad and his friend.

Christians are persecuted in Iran and those who leave Islam to follow Christ can be sentenced to death.

Iran's parliament recently passed a law mandating the death penalty for apostates, but it hasn't gone into effect yet.
