Israel - The most pressing question in the Middle East remains will Israel strike Iran's nuclear facilities.

CBN News presents an exclusive look at one of Israel's most formidable weapons in case the Jewish state does attack Iran.

Call it 'Storm'

In Hebrew, it's called Sufa and in English it means "storm."

It's an F16I - perhaps the most sophisticated fighter bomber in the world today and a key weapon in Israel's potential conflict with Iran.

The F16I represents one of Israel's most effective offensive weapons.

Its range and capability put it at the heart of a future strike. It's specially equipped with aerodynamically designed external fuel tanks for added range and Israeli designed avionics.

But will Israel launch a military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities? On Tuesday, Israel's air force chief Maj. Gen. Ido Nehushtan seemed to leave that door open.

"If I understand it correctly, all options are on the table. The air force is a very robust and flexible force. We are ready to do whatever is demanded of us," he told the German newspaper Der Spiegel.

In a Moment's Notice

Readiness is a theme reflected from the base commander to the pilots in the air.

"My job is to make sure that this base (Ramon Base) and the air force is ready for any type of war, at any time," explained Col. Ziv Levy, Ramon Base commander.

"For me, if a war will erupt in an hour," he said, "I'm ready and I must make sure that the pilots are ready because in the Middle East, we cannot foresee the reason for the next war."

"Iran is a world wide problem and the solution will be a world wide solution but in general Israel is preparing to take over any challenge that will be addressed towards us. In general, I can say that we're ready for anything that could happen," said one Sufa pilot.

Hitting Iran's nuclear facilities remains a decision for Israel's political leadership but Israel's military appears ready.
