CBNNews.com - ASHKELON, Israel - By Monday afternoon, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired 28 rockets on southern Israeli cities.

A Grad missile heavily damaged a kindergarten in Ashdod, but like all the kindergartens and schools within a 25-mile range of rocket fire, it was empty. Several people suffered shock in the attack.

Another Grad missile hit east of the port city of Ashdod, in the Hevel Yavne Regional Council, about 25 miles from the border with Gaza.

Two Grad missiles hit the coastal city of Ashkelon, south of Ashdod, early Monday. One missile damaged a sidewalk in a residential neighborhood and another landed in an open area.

A mortar shell hit the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council about the same time.

Closer to noon, terrorists fired five Grad missiles and a Kassam, two hitting Sderot, two the Sdot Negev Regional Council and one landing just outside the city limits of Ashdod.

A short time later, five rockets hit the Eshkol Regional Council.

There were no reports of serious property damage and no shrapnel-related injuries, though several residents of the rocket-battered city of Sderot were treated for shock.
