Is America Headed for Judgment?

One of the focuses we want to pray for is the United States. When
this country was founded, it was dedicated to God. America was governed by the
Bible and it was a place where we believed in righteousness. You see, the Bible
says righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to any people. And so
what God did in his great wisdom was put a hedge of protection around the United
States. Do you realize there's never been a nation as rich, as powerful, or
where such tremendous opportunity has existed for all people, as here in America?
As a nation, we honored God, our children prayed in school, we had intact families,
and God protected us. Our nation has known bountiful blessings and divine protection.
We've never been overcome by a major foreign invader. We fought for liberty in
Texas, and we defeated Mexico in regard to that, and expanded the nation in California
through other battles. But in terms of a major foreign invader to the United States
of America, after the War of 1812, there's been nothing. We've fought to defend
freedom on other soil, but not here. We have not faced devastating bombing attacks;
we've not endured destruction of our homes or way of life. Thank the Lord for
His goodness and protection. Our simply, honest, God-fearing way of life was a
blessing to our land for many, many years. But what do we find in America now?
Immorality that is celebrated in the media and pornography that is spreading
like a cancer on the internet. Our families are reeling from widespread divorce.
We have massive addiction to drugs and alcohol. But beyond that, we have banned
prayer and the wisdom of the Bible from our schools and most of our public life.
So there's been an angry affront against God. Our nation has said, 'we don't
want to be associated with the righteous beginnings of this nation any longer.
We want to build our nation upon decadence, deception and violence.' And worse
than all these moral tragedies is the shocking magnitude of abortion. Thirty-five
to 40 million babies have been killed in the abortion mills of America. This is
more heinous than Mao Tse-tung, Josef Stalin, and Hitler's evil acts. A homosexual
group is fighting the Boy Scouts in virtually every county and state. Their purpose:
to force the Boy Scouts, which is a religious organization where they pledge allegiance
to God, to accept homosexual Scoutmasters. Even the profane act of sodomy has
become accepted in America. Our nation is in complete rebellion against God; rejecting
His love for us. Now, why should we experience His blessings and protection
as a nation anymore? The hedge of protection that has been around the United States
is coming down. What will be the result? I'll tell you exactly what's going
to happen. We are vulnerable to terrorism of a massive nature. And what kind of
weapons do terrorists have these days? They have Anthrax, which is a deadly disease.
They have various types of germs that are as deadly as anything that can be considered.
They have small nuclear weapons they can bring into this country and detonate
in any of our major cities. If you think that's not going to happen in the next
few years, you are living in a fantasy world, because the Middle East is a flaming
cauldron. All this is a result of America rejecting God. In addition, false
religions and cults from all over the world are invading America. On top of that,
we are now suffering from El Nio, and its terrible effect, and we're just beginning
to warm up. We have experienced the worst natural destruction probably in our
history, and these things are hitting us on every side. Now I know you'll say
this is oversimplified, but this is what's happening. God is not going to put
a hedge of protection around sodomy and abortion. He's not going to do it. Now
what we may have -- we may have a hedge around certain groups. Those who are praying
and fasting and getting the Bible out, so He'll take care of groups here and there
and put a hedge around them. We've also got the year 2000 computer problem
which could bring a financial collapse of major proportions. Just look to the
Far East today. The Asian crisis is as bad as 1929, the collapse of their stock
markets -- Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. -- and that can happen here. So now
we've got potential financial collapse, plus the potential meltdown of our computer
system. Iran has nuclear missiles; the former Soviet Union, still has big MIRVed
SS-18s pointing at the United States of America. Somebody almost set one off accidentally
a few weeks ago, according to news reports. Now, what are we going to do? That's
why we're praying, ladies and gentlemen. I know that God is going to protect America
as long as Christians are taking the Gospel overseas. He has promised that to
me, and I believe that's true. He's not going to destroy this land or allow it
to be destroyed by all these forces as long as we are faithful in getting the
Gospel around the world. But that is a limited window. When that happens, we're
looking, very frankly, at chaos. In Habakkuk ... "and he looked and he said, 'God,
justice is being distorted, bad things are happening in our country. How come
you let this happen?' And God says, 'I've got somebody I'm going to bring for
correction. If you won't correct it internally, I'll correct it from external
forces, but I'm going to correct it.'" And, sure enough, the Babylonians came
and did terrible things to Israel. They were actually taken into captivity, then
God re-established them 70 years later. We're talking about serious matters
here. So if there was ever a time to pray for our nation, this is it. More
